Los Angeles might be known for Hollywood, it’s stars and the beautiful weather. But thanks to the city’s sunny and casual lifestyle, to many it also is the denim capital of the world. To my wardrobe denim is as essential as shoes and underwear, it’s my go-to fabric at any time, any season and it adds the right amount of off-duty cool to all of my outfits. Dressed up or down, classic or a little bit edgy, there’s always a fresh way to wear denim. Currently I am all for flared silhouettes, frayed hems, high-rise waists and cropped lengths when it comes to jeans, and my love affair with overalls and jumpsuits continues. No need to mention my arsenal of denim jackets, which continues to grow. Here are my five favourite LA denim looks (including shopping links), I hope you like it!
The Highrise Vintage Jean
A fail-safe outfit (aka my uniform) is a tank or vintage-wash tee, paired with a military parka and my favourite jeans. I recommend a high rise silhouette, in a light wash, with a straight leg and subtle distressing to keep things relaxed and authentic.

The Denim Romper
The denim one-piece always lends itself to easy dressing, looking effortless, playful and sexy. I love to top it off with a pair of gladiator sandals, a biker jacket and natural hair and makeup.

The Denim Jacket
It’s the essential key piece in my wardrobe, I own a denim jacket in every wash and cut, I love the tried-and-true classics, but currently I am obsessing over these cool-kid updates, customised with patches, embroidery and stitchings.

No true Angeleno is complete without the perfect pair of cut-offs. I love their laissez-faire attitude and I literally wear them with everything from chunky knit, to body suits and bikini tops.

The Cropped Boyfriend
Teamed with a no-fuss tee, a pair of sneakers and a lived-in biker jacket relaxed denim remains a classic for a reason— it just looks downright cool! The frayed, rolled-up hem is a fresh update, which you can DIY with any boyfriend jean in your closet: cut it off and roll into a cropped length.
